In 1985, Ken Bank purchased "Pointe Vacuum" in Grosse Pointe Woods. In 1988, the name "Pointe Vacuum" was changed to "Bank's Vacuum" when Mr. Bank merged the Grosse Pointe Woods and Troy store (opened in 1987) with the Bank family's original "Dearborn Vacuum" location. In 2013, the Grosse Pointe Woods store moved to its present and much larger and more comfortable location where it continues to serve the local community.
